In the past, Korea's scientific community has been hesitant to engage with creationists, afraid that doing so might boost the credibility of the group. However, silence is no any longer an option.

The STR has been campaigning to remove content from textbooks that explain evolution, including the discovery of the feathered dinosaur Archaeopteryx as an ancestor of birds. But  에볼루션게이밍  is merely one aspect of the evolution of the development paradigm.

What is Evolution?

Evolution is a scientific theory that explains the change in genetic characteristics of living organisms over time. The theory is based on the fact that living creatures adapt to their environment, which could result in variations in genes or entire genomes. These changes could over generations lead to the creation of new species. The most popular theory of evolution is called natural selection, which describes the process through which individuals with advantageous characteristics survive and reproduce more frequently than those with disadvantageous characteristics. This variation in reproduction could, over time, lead to the emergence and evolution of new species.

The term "evolution" is derived from the Latin word meaning unrolling or revealing. However, the concept has had a variety of meanings as it has taken form in the sciences and other fields. Early evolutionists such as Erasmus Darwin (Charles’s grandfather) and Jean Baptiste de Lamarck believed that species were predetermined to change into a new species. Etienne Geoffroy St.Hilaire was Lamarck's embryologist disciple who coined the term "transmutation" to describe this theory. Charles Lyell, who published the second volume of his Principles of Geology in 1833 challenged this notion and borrowed the term "evolution" from Geoffroy's student to describe the notion that existing species change into other species in an orderly and predictable manner.

Evolutionary biologists define evolution more recently as a process through which living things develop characteristics to improve their chances of surviving or producing offspring. As time passes, this genetic variability can result in the development of entirely new physical or biological functions in a population. This change in gene frequencies is known as natural selection and it is the main driver of evolutionary change. However non-genetic changes like the growth in muscle mass from diet or exercise cannot be considered examples of evolution since they are not inherited by the next generation.

Despite the fact that evolution has withstood the tests of time and thousands of scientific tests however, creationists have taken advantage of the idea that evolution is controversial to claim that it shouldn't be taught in schools. In South Korea, creationists have won a few victories in their campaign to exclude evolution from high-school textbooks and have also gotten rid of references to the evolutionary history of humans and the Archaeopteryx feathered dinosaur that is thought to be an ancestor of birds.

Why is Evolution Important to Humanity?

Evolution explains how the Earth and all its living species evolved. It is one of the fundamentals of biology, and aids scientists to understand how living things function and grow. Evolution also reveals the relationships between species. Scientists study evolution to better understand the natural world, and to make useful discoveries, such as developing new medicines.

The evidence for evolution is overwhelming. There is no other scientific theory that can explain so many aspects of the universe and life on this planet, and it has been thoroughly tested and confirmed over many years. Many people, including religious leaders, are in favor of the theory of evolution as a scientific fact. It is important to remember that evolutionary biology isn't in contradict religious beliefs because it only focuses on physical objects, events and processes.

In fact many religious individuals have come up with ways to reconcile their beliefs with evolutionary theory. For example, some Christians believe that God created the world through evolution, and that humans share an ancestral connection with other animals.

It is crucial that science educators advocate for the teaching of evolution. Unfortunately, in a few countries around the world there is a growing anti-evolutionist sentiment. In the United States, efforts to limit the teaching of evolution have made some progress in some states. In South Korea, a group called the Society for Textbook Revise (STR) which is an offshoot from the Korea Association for Creation Research is pushing for the removal of textbooks about the evolution of horses as well as the avian ancestor Archaeopteryx.

It is vital to remember, however, that the evidence in support of evolution is overwhelming. The evidence comes from a broad range of sources, including fossils, genetic studies, and the behavior of living organisms. The evidence is also independently verified by other scientists.

The vast majority of scientists agree with the theory of evolution. This belief is based on various reasons. Scientists are studying evolution to make practical discoveries, such as developing new medicines, while others do so to improve animal and plants species, mostly to benefit humans. Some scientists are just curious, whereas others have an intense faith in God.

What is Creationism?

Creationists believe that God created everything in the universe. They also believe that the Bible is the word of God and should be taken seriously. Although not all creationists are Christian but many are. Creationists are generally divided into two categories: Young Earth Creationists (YEC) or old earth creationists.

The most common type of creationist is the YEC. They believe that God created the universe exactly in the way described in the Bible. They believe that the biblical account of the creation's six days is true, and that the universe and the life on Earth was created only recently.

OECs may be less well-known However, their beliefs are as intense as those of YECs. OECs believe that the universe and life on Earth are billions of years old, and that evolution is an untruth.

Both types of creationism deny that scientific principles like natural selection and abiogenesis can explain the origins of life on Earth. They argue that evolution isn't possible because it requires a miracle, and that the founders of modern science rejected miracles out of fear that they would lose credibility.

Some creationists believe in naturalistic evolution and also special creation. They call their view “theistic evolution." This is also known as "continuous evolutionism" or the "evolution of species created." In this view, God creates the original species and allows them to evolve over time. In the end these evolutionary changes will result in new species identical to the original species.

Others believe that God created the universe and all living things during a single event, known as the Great Flood. Creationists believe that the original species were created simultaneously, and that they developed slowly afterward. They also reject the concept of abiogenesis, and argue that the creation of self-replicating organisms from nonliving matter is not possible.

In general, creationists oppose teaching evolution at schools. This is a position that is backed by numerous professional organizations such as the National Science Teachers Association, the Association for Science Teacher Education, the American Anthropological Association, and the Geological Society of America. Some scientists and educational institutions, however, are more flexible and allow evolution and creationism to be incorporated into their curriculum.

What is Creationism?

When people think of the concept of the concept of creationism, a lot think of the United States. However, South Korea is also home to an anti-evolutionist movement. The publishers of high school textbooks announced recently that they would remove the mention of evolution in their textbooks. The Society for Textbook Revise, an independent body that is an offshoot from the Korea Association for Creation Research (KACCR) has been the driving force behind this campaign. The STR has achieved its first victory by removing from textbooks the evidence of the evolution and ancestor of the avian, called the Archeopteryx. The next goal is to remove excerpts from Darwin’s infamous finch-research as well as on human evolution.

STR claims to have the backing of 4,000 families and individual members. Its aim is to root out what it regards as the "atheist materialism" that creates a bleak worldview for students. It also hopes to combat the influence of American Creationists in the United States. A survey of students in biology found that half did not believe in evolution. The causes aren't clear but could be due to religious beliefs and the lack of full-time creation scientists in the country.

The KACR has accomplished a lot in the past through seminars and lectures.  에볼루션 바카라  publishes a bimonthly news magazine, Creation, and has published books. One of them is a textbook on the natural sciences that has an evolutionary perspective that sparked interest in college communities. In 1991 an academic and minister began teaching Creation Science in one university, and it is taught until today.

On August 6 and 7, 1993, KACR hosted a second International Symposium on Creation Research. The event was held in conjunction with the opening of the World Expo in Daejeon. Six lecturers from the world, including ICR's John Morris, Duane Gish and Steven Austin spoke to audiences of a few thousand. KACR and its members have given lectures on creation science in major seminaries too. KACR plans to establish a Creation Science Education Center.
